Bullhorn
What Bullhorn's own documentation says about its Microsoft 365 Exchange integration, why a journaling rule that copies Outlook mail to Bullhorn is not a way for Bullhorn to send mail, and how mail written in Outlook is signed.
Bullhorn's documentation for Microsoft 365 describes copying your Outlook mail to Bullhorn, not Bullhorn sending mail through your mailbox, so there is no sending connection for Footer365 to sign. Choose how your CRM or app sends its mail explains the two ways to send and why.
At a glance
- Can be signed: mail a recruiter writes in Outlook, as any Outlook mail, and which the Bullhorn integration then copies.
- Cannot be signed: anything Bullhorn sends from its own servers. The page read does not say that Bullhorn sends mail through your mailbox.
- What the integration does: Bullhorn says a journaling rule "automatically forwards copies of inbound and outbound emails from Outlook" to Bullhorn's tracking address.
- Status: from Bullhorn's documentation as read on 23 October 2026, not tested by Footer365. The page shows no date.
What you can do
- Keep writing recruiters' email in Outlook, where Footer365 signs it like any other mail, with mail flow set up or the Outlook add-in deployed. Which messages get a signature
- Make sure each person has a Footer365 signature rule.
- Check one message, as described in Mail from your CRM and other apps.
What is not signed
Mail Bullhorn sends itself. Bullhorn's page says the setup "requires IT professional-level access to your Exchange environment", and asks you to "Add Bullhorn to your Sender Policy Framework". It does not say that Bullhorn sends mail through your mailbox, so do not assume it does. Footer365 never sees mail Bullhorn sends from its own servers. A connector into Exchange Online is not an option for it: Microsoft says SMTP relay cannot be used for a service hosted by someone else. Last resort: a connector to Exchange Online
If it does not work
- A message written in Outlook is unsigned. The signature was not added
- A message from Bullhorn has no
X-Footer365-Relay-Id. It did not pass through Microsoft 365 with Footer365. Mail from our CRM is not signed
