Email signatures after a merger or tenant migration
Two companies, two brands and often two Microsoft 365 tenants. How to handle email signatures after a merger, from day one to the tenant move.
More and more people read email in dark mode. Most signatures were designed on a white page, and some of them do not survive the switch.
Mail apps handle dark mode in different ways. Some leave your signature exactly as it is, some darken the background around it, and some go further and change the colours of text. An image, though, is usually left alone. So a logo drawn in dark ink on a transparent background can end up as dark ink on a dark background, which is to say invisible.
The Footer365 editor has a preview with a Dark mode button, so you can see your design on a dark background while you work, alongside desktop and mobile widths. The preview can show your own directory details instead of sample ones, and the email client preview gives an approximate view of how the main Outlook versions and Apple Mail present it.
No preview can reproduce every mail app exactly, so for the final check, send yourself a test email and open it in dark mode on your own phone and computer.
There is more in Dark mode and email client preview, and the fixes are listed in The logo disappears in dark mode.
